The Path Of Meditation that
Leads to Living ALOHA
~~~~
Not a Religion.
Just Universal Truths That Lead to Living ALOHA.
This Course is a profound, experiential journey that points the way toward living consciously with an awakened mind. Today, we call that being mindful. According to Aunty Pilahi Pakī and Aunty Morrnah Nālamakū Simeona, two of Hawaiʻi’s most beloved and respected wisdom keepers of the 20th century, it’s called living ALOHA.
About the Course
Swipe to learn about the three stages and six levels of
The Path Of Meditation that Leads to Living ALOHA
Stage 1: The Hinayana (Levels 1 & 2 - 21 Classes)
The first stage of learning is the Hinayana (Levels 1 & 2). In the Hinayana, we learn that life, as it is, is suffering but there IS a way to live free of suffering: by training ourselves to observe then release habitual mental patterns blocking our ability to experience our true nature: ALOHA.
The motto for this level of understanding is a quote from the first Deadpool movie: “Life is an endless series of train wrecks with only brief, commercial-like breaks of happiness.”
LEVEL 1: Through the practice of meditation, we will learn to be mindful and aware of our experience in the present moment. In particular, this level offers the possibility of experiencing ALOHA as the unconditional ground of existence and as the inspiration for leading a fulfilling life.
LEVEL 2: Here, we examine habitual patterns that we have created over our lifetime that are preventing us from consistently experiencing our True Nature: ALOHA. We will continue to strengthen our self-awareness to know when we're on habitual-pattern-autopilot and we'll learn life skills that enable us to begin eliminating struggle, anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity, & suffering from our life.
Stage 2: The Mahayana (Levels 3 & 4 - 22 classes)
The second stage of learning is the Mahayana (Levels 3 & 4). In the Mahayana, we learn about the radical interdependence of all phenomena (Inter-Being). This means we find that by helping others and acting from compassion and wisdom, we improve our own life as well as the lives of other people and the world.
The motto for this level: “With an open heart, we cheerfully journey through life.”
LEVEL 3: We further develop our capacity to relate to others and our environment with humor, kindness, and strength. Our lives are no longer a series of threats or distractions but a call to be wakeful and responsive. We learn that we can apply our practice to whatever arises, developing more confidence in all aspects of our world to further awaken the mind and heart.
LEVEL 4: We allow our natural curiosity to show us more of our world outside the parameters of our usual fears. Connecting and communicating with the world more directly also connects us to our hearts and allows us to acknowledge the world as it is. This brings love for the journey.
Stage 3: The Vajrayana (Levels 5 & 6 - 21 classes)
At third and ultimate state of learning is the Vajrayana. Here, we veer into the advanced teachings to learn that by surrendering completely to ALOHA - our true nature - our life becomes an experience of love, peace, joy, freedom, & bliss.
The motto for this level: “It’s ALL about ALOHA.”
LEVEL 5: We can now relax into unconditional trust, which brings a sense of freedom and a spacious, engaged outlook. By softening our hearts and appreciating our experience, we learn that a life of living ALOHA itself becomes a delightful source of wisdom and uplifted energy.
LEVEL 6: Having worked on transcending our habitual patterns and having touched into an understanding of our True Nature, we learn to inhabit the gentleness, openness, and allowing of our Authentic Being so that the present moment – ALOHA – can unfold around us.
We believe that, at this time in history, the planet needs strong leaders – leaders who possess an optimistic outlook, forge meaningful connections with others, have a clear understanding of their purpose & values, and possess the conviction that they can bring about meaningful, positive change in their lives, businesses, communities, cities, states, country, or the world.
We believe everyone is a leader in their own way.
But nothing can be truly done about the problems in our lives, communities, cities, states, country, or the world until we first change our way of thinking. If the prevailing way of thinking worked, we wouldn’t be experiencing our lives and the world as they are today.
As a result of being born human, we entered this world with a number of inherent and natural qualities: mindfulness, awareness, curiosity, humor, primordial confidence, feeling (an action verb), insight, imagination, and the ability to think using our original mind (our heart-mind, our un-conditioned mind).
Thinking from the conceptual/ego mind (our “logical” mind), on the other hand, didn’t start until later and wasn’t consistently used until around age 6 or 7. Full development of the conceptual/ego mind didn’t happen until age 25. By that time, we were socialized into being fully reliant on it.
Before losing our original way of thinking to the conceptual/ego mind, we actively utilized our inherent human qualities and our heart-mind.
Thanks to Western culture, over the last two centuries, we have become more and more conceptual/ego-mind driven. In fact, we seemingly can’t stop. As a result, according to indigenous cultures around the world, we, our country, and the world are experiencing struggle, anxiety, depression, emotional reactivity, and suffering in all areas of our lives.
As we begin to remember, uncover, and utilize our inherent human qualities again, we become beacons of ALOHA. ALOHA then radiates out from us and positively affects those around us and beyond (proven by quantum mechanics). In other words, the energy of living ALOHA spreads out concentrically like ripples caused by dropping a stone in a pond.
When we live ALOHA, our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions reflect that and, as a result, we experience peace and harmony. The more we each experience peace & harmony, the more we treat ourselves with kindness & compassion. The more we treat ourselves with kindness & compassion, the more we treat others and the planet with kindness & compassion. This forms the basis of working together cooperatively – free of ego – on any issue that is for the highest good of all sentient beings and the planet.
The many participants who are in and have graduated the course are proving this works. Because they are consistently “thinking” primarily with their heart-minds, they are perceiving fresh, new solutions to age-old problems at work and in their private lives. And, perhaps best of all, they’re finding that living ALOHA is truly contagious. This has also been the experience of Buddhist, Non-Dualist, & Taoist teachers and practitioners around the world for the last 2,600 years.
This course does not seek to turn you into a Buddhist, Non-Dualist, Taoist, or any other -ist. You can use what you learn in this course to be a better whatever you already are. The Path of Meditation that Leads to Living ALOHA is not the only method to learn how to live ALOHA but it is the only secular one that leads to fast, tangible, and reliable results.
A thriving community
Just a few of the people living ALOHA right now:
“As a Shambhala Buddhist practitioner, I am grateful for the refreshing, experiential course I took which incorporates meditation practice, insightful talks, and thoughtful discussions. The content is well aligned with Shambhala principles while integrating wisdom from other traditions which helps to reinforce important Shambhala teachings. I highly recommend this course to anyone who feels ready to work with habitual patterns that are no longer serving them and to gain new perspectives that will help improve wellbeing.”
"I am in my second year with my/our teacher Kit Kanohoaloha Wynkoop. The course Iʻm doing has completely enabled my ability to be present on a very deep level and, throughout my daily life, I am much more anchored to presence, even amidst many challenges.
The weekly meetings and community shares, along with Kit’s guidance, are unparalleled. There is a better way to live and most pathways to that involve divesting from the conditioned mind. Join us!
I used to ponder if I could ever manage to meditate every day. And I mean seated meditation, not therapeutic yoga or savasana or activities that I find to be meditative. I am now practicing sitting meditation 47 minutes every day. That is not a brag. It is a personal/universal subscription to Aloha and an ongoing unsubscribe from the conditioned thinking mind. Buh-bye drama. Hello ALOHA!"
“The course Iʻm taking is a valuable post-Sakyong offering that is solidly based in the Shambhala teachings but with an authentic Hawaiian cultural grounding. The Path offers more of a support system with weekly classes/discussions over a year and a quarter versus the five weekends of Levels trainings offered by Shambhala. It’s worth your consideration regardless of all the sincere testimony/marketing quotes in support of the course.”
Arleen Garcia-Herbst
“I want to share some notes about my experience I kept from the free trial period (Levels 1 and 2). I noticed being in the present moment and acknowledging and accepting my present state without feeling the need to change anything – I termed this ‘The Portal of Now.’ I’m able to concentrate on sound, sight, feeling while tracking the continuum of how I am experiencing each of these facets and the totality. I find myself allowing this continuum to happen as a whole experience by listening and receiving. I understand this as ‘unfoldment’ and noting when I’m distracted by saying ‘My mind is thinking.’ I am enjoying the course and look forward to each gathering.”
Alan Majerol
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
"It’s difficult for me to put into words the gifts I’ve gained from participating in The Path of Meditation That Leads to Living Aloha, even though the benefits are many. The tentacles of the teachings reach deep into my crevices, and while I may not recognize the class as the source of all the changes evident in my day-to-day life, I’m confident of its impact. That’s the nature of commitment to an ongoing practice. The practice works beneath the surface while simultaneously being foundational to stepping into a new life, a relentless acceptance of the ever-changing river.
But, by steadfastly sticking with it, showing up week after week, and practicing every day, slowly but surely, I notice that it’s true what I’ve heard over the years, something that doesn’t seem possible until it is happening – my mind is trainable. And once trained, it’s no longer the ringleader of my life. And that’s good. So good.
Kit’s offerings are gold. He has curated these teachings into a beautiful path offered with wisdom, compassion, and guidance. If you commit and practice, your life will change for the better—in every aspect."
“Thank you for creating The Path of Meditation that Leads to Living ALOHA as well as this wonderful teaching and interactive sharing approach.  I never considered myself a fan of online learning, but this course is truly amazing. The depth of emotion, personal challenges, various insights, etc. is really such a critical part of the whole experience for me.  It’s quite something.
And now that I am taking the course a second time, it doesn’t seem like I’m repeating it; the material is completely fresh with new perspectives. It feels more like a continuation of the course rather than a re-do. I am in awe.”
